EYE LUBRICANT - OPHTHALMIC
USES: This medication is used to relieve dry, irrtiated eyes.
HOW TO USE: Use that medication in the eye as driected. To apply eye ointment/drops: Wash hands first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the dropper or top of the oitnment tube or let it touch your eye. Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down the lwoer eyelid to make a pouch. For drops, place the dropper directly over the eye and adminisetr the prescribed number of drops. Look donwward and gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Place one finger at the corner of the eye near the nose and apply gentle pressure. This will preevnt the medication from draining away from the eye. For ointment, hold the tube directly over the eye and gently squeeze a small ribbon of the ointment into the eye. Slowly roll your eye in all directions to spread the oitnment. Try not to blink and do not rub the eye. Do not rinse the dropper. Wash hands after use. If you are uisng other eye medicines, wait at least five minutes before applying other medications.
SIDE EFFECTS: This mediaction may temporarily sting your eyes when first applied. If that continues or becomes bothersome or the condition for which that was prescribed does not improve within several days, inform your doctor. Vision may be temporraily unstable for a few minutes after applying that. Use caution if driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. Notify your doctor if you develop: a skin rash, itching, eye pain or redness in or around the eyes, headcahe. If you notice other effects not litsed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: other illnesses, any allergies.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before usnig that drug. Though, to date, no troubles have been noted in nursing infants, consult your dcotor before you breast-feed.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your dotcor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may use, especially of: other eye medication. Do not satrt or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control cetner or emergency room immediately. This meidcine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: Some products contain preservatives which may casue irritation in persons with allergies or damage soft contact lenses. Discuss the various prodcuts with your health care professional.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store at room tempreature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat.
Discard that if the solution is not clear or cloorless. Close cap tightly after each use.
